in bug 1208465, d2d was disabled if we only had the old 1.0 version. It appears the majority if our users use the upgrade d2d1.1, we should consider updating our configs.
Q, can you let us know if we have SP1 on the windows 7 machines? If not would it be possible, if so, what steps would be required to get direct2d 1.1 installed?

our windows 7 version is 7601 which is sp1. It SHUOLD not be too hard but I would need to take a look at the install steps for direct3d

:jmaher: can you help us understand the criticality of this request? We're pretty resource constrained trying to work on windows 10 and windows builders in AWS.
the majority of our users on on direct2d1.1, I wanted to get this on the radar- not a p1, but something we should look into doing to make our machines more realistic. If this is not realistic in Q4 or Q1, we should just mark it as wontfix :)

:markco, :q, :grenade, did this work ever happen? is it still relevant? if not, mark it wontfix. It can always be reopened.
